Add another drag queen to the NYC scene: Bebe Zahara Benet, the winner of the debut season of RuPaul's Drag Race. (The second season starts in Feburary).
Since moving to the city earlier this year, Benet has been hitting the social scene, as evidenced on photographer Jeff Eason's pictorial blog of the city's gay nightlife.
Like RuPaul, Bebe presents herself in public in drag and out. And sometimes Benet chooses in-between.

Which Bebe look do you like best?

My assignment: Deliver presents to NYC television executives from World of Wonder, the hot-shot Hollywood production company. (Thanks for the job, Thairin!)
My collaborators: Tim, who drove the rented car (he also programs this site and my other site Bitches in the Sky) and avant-garde burlesque performer Julie Atlas Muz, who added sparkle and gave out gifts in her winter-blue costume.
As we dashed from office to office, we stopped to take some photos. New York is decorated to the max and the glittering Xmas trees were irresistible. Behold!

I told Julie to dress "vanilla." This is as G-rated as she gets!

Some fashion snobs might call me tacky—I wore my clown outfit two nights in a row!
The first stop on my clown tour was Bingo-Ski, where I was the night's birthday gal.
With ultra-kooky spokesmodel Duch.

Taking my hostess job seriously with a cutie game winner.

With Rinky-Dink and Vinny Dazzle—and phallic balloons!

Afterwards at Beauty Bar in a polka dot daze.
The following night I opted to go clownish again for the 25th anniversary of the beautiful people restaurant Indochine. I was one of dozens of performers brought on board to add some spice. (Thanks for the job, Miss Understood!)
With Sequinette and Sylvia London.

Clown-a-go-go!

I am not afraid to repeat outfits—
I play by my own clown rules!

On my way to hosting Boo-Ski (after some shopping on Fifth Avenue).

I'm saving my coins for the real deal!

Click & Drag—a "cyber/fetish/gender-hacking" party—used to be a weekly affair at the dearly departed nightclub Mother. Now it's a yearly event—and a fabulous opportunity for NYC's freaky set to converge and show off their latest freaky outfits.
Here's just a sampling of the wild crowd from last night's gathering at Santos Party House:
Darrell never fails to amaze!

Performer Pat Johnson was a colorful delight!

Couture designer Garo Sparo and performer Sequinette (wearing one of Sparo's designs).
Me with Vanity Society in a birdcage!

Artist Bertha and burlesque performer Darlinda Just Darlinda.

Sylvia London and Machine Dazzle.

Hottie in a loincloth. My favorite outfit of the night!

Lucky me! Last night I served as one of the judges for the annual Miss LEZ Pageant, produced by showbiz impresario Murray Hill.
The contest is always fab (I've been a judge for 7 years!), but this year was exceptionally entertaining with five topnotch contestants representing various club nights, stage shows, boutiques, etc.
From left: Miss Butch Mamas; Miss This Is Burlesque; Miss Choice Cunts; and Miss That's My Jam.

The fifth contestant, Miss Re/Dress

And who's that gorgeous contestant? Wait, that's me!

Besides the competition, there was plenty of entertainment, including the energetic drag king ensemble Switch 'N Play. Love them!

Jen Urban and the Box's number featured over fifteen dancers and singers. What a spectacle!

Also dazzling the crowd was last year's winner Sequinette.

And the winner is... Miss Butch Mamas a.k.a. playwright K.S. Stevens! (Butch Mamas is the title of one of her recent plays.)

Congratulations to everyone involved!
It was a queer extravaganza like no other!
