Someone sent us a recent pic of French designer Thierry Mugler, who continues his incredible transformation into the Amazing Hulk.
Then and Now

The kids who used to throw the rowdy party Stache are back at NYC's Beauty Bar on Thursdays with Boon Dickles Beaver House. (Love the ridiculous name!)
Then: Hostess Duch sandwiched by DJs Zach (left) and Tommy Hottpants

Now: The trio, along with their new collaborators

Our amigo Conrad sent this hot pic from Mexico City’s Gay Pride Parade.

Speaking of gay… Patricia Field Boutique went against the grain and chose a great boy-girl image for the store’s queer boat party. (Yes, the bikini babe is a girl!)

Murray Hill has a new comedy album in the works and wants you to help supply the laffs.

A simple yet eye-catching invite for a new Monday-night affair

Summer greetings from hilarious songstress Wendy Ho!

Keep those cards and letters coming!

A new musical is in the works, I Lived!, inspired by the life of Warhol superstar Holly Woodlawn, star of such underground films as Trash and Women in Revolt.

The casting is quite interesting. Holly and her cohorts Candy Darling and Jackie Curtis were twenty-somethings when they reached the peak of their popularity circa 1970, while the actors portraying them are mostly in the summers of their lives.
Hollywood Woodlawn surrounded by some of the Frances Ethyl Gumm Memorial Players. Clockwise from left: Brandon Olson (as Holly), Robert Appleton (as Candy), Chirs Tanner (as Jackie's saloon-owner mother Slugger Ann) and Lance Cruce (as Jackie).

But isn’t suspending belief what the theater all about? (Good makeup helps, too.)
This Sunday, there’s a benefit for the upcoming production at Dance Manhattan, 39 West 19th (between Fifth and Sixth Aves, fourth floor), featuring performances, strippers and cocktails. Doors open at 6pm and the suggested donation is $20.
Those girls gotta make some money!

From the press release for my latest venture... Please know that you're cordially invited!
Holy Pierogi—it’s time for Bingo Eastern European style! On Thursday, May 28th, Linda Simpson, the reigning queen of downtown Bingo, presents yet another campy and irreverent night of chance—BINGO-SKI—located at a glorious old-fashion Ukrainian party room.
Expect funny accents and gaudy ethnic garb galore—all in good fun, of course! And how about some vodka shots as you play? A full bar is available!

There are tentative plans to turn BINGO-SKI into a monthly event (details to come). In the meanwhile, Linda continues to host wildly popular Monday Night Bingo with Murray Hill at Bowery Poetry Club.
Wow, what a career!

Mark your calendars! Boybar, the fondly remembered East Village gay club that launched and nurtured the careers of dozens of drag queens during the late 1980s and early 1990s, is having a reunion!

The get-together is a benefit for the Ali Forney Center (which provides services to homeless queer youth) and is scheduled for September at Mr. Black.
Matthew Kasten, who served as ringmaster of the Boybar “Beauties,” is flying in from Los Angeles (where he works as a show-biz wig designer) to reprise his role as master of ceremonies.

The list of entertainers is still being assembled, but the confirmations include the most famous alumni of all, actress Candis Cayne.
Candis back in the day

The Beauties are sure to sign up quickly for this high-profile and nostalgic event. We'll betcha anything the cast includes Sweetie, Connie Girl, Perfidia, Raven O, Princess Diandra, Codie Ravioli, Mona Foot and Miss Guy.
Mona Foot was a youthful snarler

Boybar was famed for its elaborate theme shows, group numbers and electrifying displays of lipsynching. It should be a hoot and a half to see what the queens come up with!

Time to start the diet and make the Botox appointments!
(All photos from Matthew Kasten's Facebook account.)
