Last night, NYC drag performer and nightlife personality Shequida made her second appearance on the NBC anything-goes variety show, America’s Got Talent.
A few weeks ago, the glamorous Jamaican-born entertainer wowed the panel of judges with her operatic singing skills and qualified to return and compete for the grand prize, a solo show in Las Vegas.
Talk about high stakes! Can’t you just picture it… Shequida’s name flashing bright on a giant neon sign above the Vegas strip...Huge crowds packing a grand showroom to worship the drag diva...
Alas, the dream was shattered.
Shequida’s soprano version of “I Will Survive” was deemed a screechy dud by all the judges, with outspoken British bloke Piers Morgan dishing out the harshest criticism.
He thought her singing sounded like his “kid’s pet rabbit being strangled.”
Talk about providing ammunition for Shequida’s drag rivals...
Oh well, at least she got further in the competition than the horn-blowing crossdresser.
