We just got a triumphant e-mail press release from Randy Jones—the original cowboy from the disco-era group the Village People—about his recent jaunt to Yankee Stadium, where he led the entire crowd (with the help of Jumbotron screens) to a rousing version of the homosexual family-friendly classic “YMCA.”

Making Randy feel right at home were his V.I.P.-section seatmates—a whole mess of U.S. military men!  (Are they familiar with the VP hit, "In The Navy"?)

Gay tunes must be good luck: the Yankees won.

Randy's entertainment career is still going strong.  Check out his website.

On a related note, Gloria Gaynor is recording a new version of her 1970s dancefloor anthem,  “I Will Survive.”
