We just got a triumphant e-mail press release from Randy Jones—the original cowboy from the disco-era group the Village People—about his recent jaunt to Yankee Stadium, where he led the entire crowd (with the help of Jumbotron screens) to a rousing version of the
homosexual family-friendly classic “YMCA.”
Making Randy feel right at home were his V.I.P.-section seatmates—a whole mess of U.S. military men! (Are they familiar with the VP hit, "In The Navy"?)
All that was missing were the Indian, construction worker, cop and leatherman.
Gay tunes must be good luck: the Yankees won.
Randy's entertainment career is still going strong. Check out his website.
On a related note, Gloria Gaynor is recording a new version of her 1970s dancefloor anthem, “I Will Survive.”
